The chart provides an overview of what is generally taught in our Early Childhood program at each stage of development. The daily rhythm and activities may vary based on the needs of each particular class.

PRESCHOOL

Daily Rhythm

  • Arrival and daily activity

  • Indoor play

  • Snack

  • Walk

  • Outdoor play

  • Story or Circle time that includes songs and finger games

  • Departure for morning students

  • Lunch and rest/nap for extended day students

Weekly Activities

  • Watercolor painting

  • Grain grinding

  • Bread baking

  • Woodworking

  • Cleaning

  • Vegetable chopping

Seasonal Rhythm

  • Crafts and circle activities, chosen to reflect the season, along with seasonal celebrations: Michaelmas, Lantern Walk, and Spring Parade

Afterschool Care

  • From dismissal time until 5:30 p.m., for extended day students only; includes indoor and outdoor free play and a snack
